CodeTrain / Conductors

The CodeTrain Conductor Network

The Conductor Network is the backbone of community growth for CodeTrain, built on the developers already using it. Right now that means the referral rewards system on this page. It is still being shaped and is planned to be much more.

What you earn

Share CodeTrain and earn a share of everything we collect from the people who join through you, every month they keep paying. On Pro that is $4.80 each, so 5 of them covers a $24 plan of your own and you stop paying for CodeTrain. Past that it is cash. Bring more and the rate goes up.

You earn from their first payment. The 20% welcome discount your link gives them comes out of our side, not yours, so a referral is worth the same $4.80 to you in month one as in month twelve.

People paying through youYour ratePer Pro referral
1 to 1020%$4.80 a month
11 to 2522.5%$5.40 a month
26 and up25%$6.00 a month

A team counts for what a team is worth. One referred team of twenty seats is $128.00 a month, not one referral.

What you should know

Your rate follows how many of your referrals are currently paying, so it moves in both directions, and somebody who cancels stops earning you anything from that month. Your dashboard shows you the day it happens rather than leaving you to notice a smaller number. If one of the people you brought in earns their own free plan, you keep earning from them at the rate you already had. Recruiting somebody that good should not cost you.

Cash payouts are not switched on yet. Your balance is real and it accrues from the first person who joins, and until payouts open your earnings come off your own bill. When they open, each one waits 60 days so a refund can be reversed first, and the threshold is $50. Both are ordinary for this kind of programme and you should read them here rather than find them later.

Moving money costs something, and we pass that on at cost rather than marking it up. Stripe charges 0.25% plus 25¢ to send a payout to your bank, and $2 a month for each account it pays out to. On a $50 cash-out that comes to $2.37. The $2 is charged per month rather than per payout, so a second cash-out in the same month costs $0.37. Your dashboard shows you the fee and what will actually land before you press anything. These are Stripe's charges for moving the money and we do not add to them.

Getting a link

Every account has one, free tier included, and you pick what it says. Keep it short enough to say out loud. You are more likely to say it than to send it.
